The apps
Every squad built something a judge could tap. Here are finalist apps exactly as they were at 1:10 — and the winner, Beacon from Track 4 · Education. Open any card on your phone. No account needed.
One person. One problem. One afternoon.
Beacon
Built for: a school counselor with students who've quietly stopped showing up
A re-engagement system with separate counselor, teacher, and student views. It flags absence streaks with the reason behind them, groups students by barrier, and sends a low-pressure text instead of a summons.

Open Beacon ↗Lifeline Relay
Built for: a pharmacy getting cold-chain medication to homebound patients
A dispatch hub and driver view with a fail-safe community relay, so a critical delivery still lands when the first handoff fails.
Open the app →Cooler Compton
Built for: residents on the hottest blocks in Compton
A bilingual shade survey, English and Spanish, that lets residents mark the parks, schools, and streets that get too hot so shade and trees go there first.
